I’ve done a Tetris Gameboy Manicure before using Vivid Lacquer plates, but decided I’d step it up a little with a coloured manicure. The above manicure also uses the smaller version of the Tetris print from her VL005 plate as opposed to the larger stamp in my first Tetris manicure.
Tetris was always one of my favourite video games. It came with my original Gameboy and I would spend endless hours on that thing (the stupid battery pack even started smoking one time. Oops). Years later when I got a DS, Tetris was one of the first games I bought and I spent another few years addicted to that, too. Seriously, I could just sit down to play and lose hours. It’s probably a problem…
Remembering a technique I saw over at Canadian Nail Fanatic (and how fitting that she shows this technique for a video game manicure!) I decided I’d attempt these stamping decals once and for all!
I used a bunch of polish for this one, so let’s break it down:
*Background Colour: OPI Just Spotted The Lizard
*Stamping Polish: Konad Special Black
*Red: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rapid Red
*Orange: Inglot 978
*Yellow: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lightening
*Green: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lickety Lime
*Light Blue: OPI No Room For The Blues
*Dark Blue: Priti NYC Canterbury Bells
*Purple: Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Vigorous Violet
*And of course… Seche Vite!
Canadian Nail Fanatic’s tutorial is fantastic and I just followed her instructions. I used a small pair of scissors to trim the decals.
Are you a Tetris fan? With all these awesome nail plates coming out (and already out!) I so want to do more themed stamping manicures. More video game ones? Oh yeahhh!
