A Tale of Inglot and a (Potentially) Rabid Squirrel

For today’s manicure I have some Inglot action going on! A friend of mine was in NY and picked this beauty up for me– it’s Inglot 851. It looks black with bronze shimmer in the bottle, but on the nail it’s more of a bronze-y olive. Still really dark and really gorgeous! And REALLY shimmery. Really really.

This is three coats of Inglot 851. Two probably would have been enough, but I always do an extra coat because those pesky macro shots always show my nail line, which drives me crazy because you can’t see it in real life, but three coats is solid.

While I was in my backyard taking these photos, I heard a little clicky squirrel noise. I was standing close to the fence, looked up and there he was staring at me. I expected the squirrel to run away, but he stayed there, staring. I decided I had enough photos, based on the fact that this squirrel was rabid and out to get me. As I walked back to the house, he followed me, jumping up and perching on my back deck. I scooted inside and banged on the door a little to try to scare him off, but that didn’t work. He just kept running and jumping back and forth on the deck’s railing. I tried getting photos of this, but my back door kept fogging up.

I’d open the door to snap a couple photos, he’d notice immediately and start making his way back toward me. Maybe this squirrel is just a camera whore? Cute little guy, at any rate!

Hallowe’en Nail Art Challenge – Hallowe’en Pumpkin

It’s October first, which means two things– my husband is bringing up my Hallowe’en decorations from the basement finally AND it’s time for the Hallowe’en Nail Art Challenge!

October 1′s manicure is Hallowe’en Pumpkin. I started with painting my nails orange (Inglot 978) and stamping a pumpkin from Bundle Monster plate BM-222 with Konad Special Polish in Black. I added vines to my non-accent nails with a small brush and China Glaze Fortune Teller. I then dotted on Girly Bits Monster Mash and Crunchy Leaves to represent some glittery falling fall leaves.

Hope you enjoyed it! Are you participating in the Hallowe’en Nail Art Challenge?

Quickie Fauxnad: Peacocky Nails

Another quickie for you today! This is two coats of OPI Swimsuit… Nailed It! topped with a coat of Inglot 203. OPI Swimsuit… Nailed It! is a gorgeous shimmery blue. I’m so in love with this polish! It came out a while ago, but I picked it up as some buy two get one free deals at a local beauty supply shop. The Inglot 203 flakie polish is spectacular– amazing green flakies and it is jam-packed!

After all that polish, I used Soulstice Spa Venice to stamp out a peacock pattern with Bundle Monster plate BM-212. I felt it still needed a little something extra, so I used a nail dotting tool and added some Soulstice Spa Montreal to make it even more peacock-y!

Tetris Game Boy nail art!

Earlier this week, Nintendo Power announced it would cease publication in December 2012. I’m a little bummed since video game mags were a big part of my childhood, so I did up a little manicure last night to pay tribute to the good ol’ days of Nintendo.

This is three coats of Inglot 138 (the closest colour I had to that spinach hue of the Game Boy screen) with the Tetris stamp from Vivid Lacquer plate VL 002. The accent nail is two coats of China Glaze Recycle with the D-pad controller drawn in with black Kiss nail stripe polish and the A and B buttons dotted on with a nail dotter and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Rapid Red.

In other, but related, news– I collaborated with my web partner over at Soap in the Bathroom, the 80s and 90s nostalgia site we co-run, on an awesome Nintendo Power retrospective. If that’s your thing, be sure to check it out!

Inglot 138 Nail Polish Swatches – Golden Green Goodness?

A little while ago, a pal of mine went to New York and hit up the Inglot store and was nice enough to bring back some Inglot nail polishes for me. This is one of them!

This is three coats of Inglot 138. It’s kind of sheer, but nothing that I can’t deal with. Dry time was about average, formula was pretty smooth, so no complaints here! This is a great glowy polish, a golden olive green. It reminds me a lot of the Peridot polishes, but without the strong colour shift. Definitely a unique addition to my collection!

Quickie Konad Manicure: Orange you glad…

…that I made a stupid pun;) Here is a nice summery citrusy manicure for today! This is Inglot 978, a bright and pearly orange polish that’s pretty opaque in two coats. This is stamped with Konad plate M55 and Konad Special White polish. Ta-daaaa! Not too shabby!

Purple Rainbow Glitter Holographic Gradient with Inglot!

Wow, what a title! Let’s see, what did I do to my nails today?

This is three coats of Inglot 341 with Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Diamond sponged on the tips (any silver holo will do!) and Claire’s Bedazzled (my favourite Deborah Lippman Happy Birthday dupe) blobbed on the tips. Fantastic! Sparkly! Ooh la la!

Glitter gradients are my favourite way to dress up my nails. So simple, easy, fast, and elegant! It looks like I spent so much time on my nails, but I probably spent like 5 minutes and just watched some cat videos on YouTube.

Inglot 341 Purple Sparkly Goodness!

I’m entirely too excited about this– well, maybe I’m entirely too excited about nail polish in general… at any rate here is one of my first Inglot polishes! A friend of mine went to New York on her honeymoon a few weeks ago and offered to pick me up some Inglot. Score!

This is three coats of Inglot 341, a gorgeous deep purple with purple and blue sparkly glass flecks. This polish is gorrrgeous!

Said friend is also going to Las Vegas soon and will be hitting up the Inglot store there, so I’m curious– are there any Inglot polishes that you’re lusting over or that you’ve picked up and love? I’m trying to compile a shopping list for her;) Let me know your fave Inglots! Or if you have other favourite Inglot products– let me know!
