Kleancolor Nail Polish Swatches & Stamping!

kc

Big post today for you guys! I got a few Kleancolor polishes from My Wholesale Fashion.

First up is KleanColor Nail Polish K165 Metallic Sapphire. I pretty much have the same review for the three metallic polishes I tried out. I was impressed with how opaque they were– they’re all two coats, but were opaque in one. I like to do an extra coat because sometimes those big photos like to highlight all the flaws, jeez. I also found that these Kleancolor polishes dry very quickly! SUPER impressed! Two downsides though: I found these polishes stain and they smell very strong. I can get over the smell, that’s not an issue for me, but the staining was kind of a bummer. Also something I can get over because I always have my nails painted, but just a warning!

This is KleanColor Nail Polish K160 Metallic Orange.

And this is KleanColor Nail Polish K162 Metallic Yellow.

The stamping abilities of these metallic polishes totally makes up for the staining, though! My stamper did get stained, so be warned, but I haven’t found it to be problematic. You usually have to be careful with stamping polishes because they will drag with topcoat, even when you think they’re dry. I applied topcoat over this almost immediately and there was NO dragging. That is amazing! And if you’re wondering, that’s the Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire over Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Brisk Blue and Vivid Lacquer nail plate VL 004.

The glitters I received were also great. This one is KleanColor Nail Polish K169 Grand Finale and it reminds me of those Revlon Street Wear polishes from the 90s. I absolutely love this polish! Silver holo bar glitter?! YES! I don’t have any bar glitter in my current collection, but I remember rocking it in the 90s! This is one coat over Kleancolor Metallic Sapphire.

Next up is KleanColor Nail Polish K195 Blind Date. This was also impressive– usually I find with chunky glitters like this, I have to “go fishing” to get the pieces of glitter that I want. Not the case here! This is two coats over Kleancolor Metallic Orange.

This might possibly be my favourite from the lot– KleanColor Nail Polish K191 Blue Eyed Girl. This is a blue jelly polish with large hex and small round glitters. This is two coats, which shows so much dimension! It’s like looking into a pond… a pond of glitter.

Girly Bits Candy Corn Hallowe’en Manicure

Wow! Girly Bits has released their Hallowe’en collection, and let me just say it’s pretty fantastic. My favourite has got to be Candy Corn! This is two coats of Candy Corn over black. Candy Corn is a very dense matte glitter– lots of white glitter in all different sizes, including bar glitter, as well as yellow and orange glitter. Such a cool combo! I figured showing this over black would be a good way to demonstrate how awesome this polish is while still maintaining a Hallowe’en-themed manicure. I got a ton of compliments on this when I wore it out and it’s so simple! So if you don’t want to be bothered with nail art for the fall, this polish is a pretty great cheat!

I have lots more Girly Bits coming up in the next couple days, so stay tuned! And if you’re interested in purchasing any, make sure you check out the Girly Bits store. It looks like a few of her polishes are sold out, but she does restock regularly.

EDIT: You can also purchase Girly Bits from the following e-tailers, who will have the Hallowe’en polishes up soon! Harlow & Co, Llarowe, Overall Beauty, and Mei Mei’s Signatures.

Amy’s Nail Boutique – Pink Lemonade

I’m really enjoying the polishes I bought off Amy’s Nail Boutique on Etsy! This is Pink Lemonade, which is full of pink and yellow matte glitter. It’s the same type of glitter as her Lemon Lime, and similar to Nailventurous Floam. I really dig this style!

This is two coats Essie California Coral topped with two coats of Amy’s Nail Boutique Pink Lemonade. I found this polish less gritty than Lemon Lime for some reason. I’m not sure why, but it came out smoother. Bonus!

I definitely want to try this again, but over a cream yellow polish. I think it will pop a lot better!

Batman-icure!

I’m a huge Batman fan– well, I should specify– I’m a huge fan of the darker Batman films, so the Christian Bale and Michael Keaton eras. I’m so excited for The Dark Knight Rises, I even tried to get my husband to take Friday off from work so we could see an afternoon showing. Sadly, Batman is not a valid reason to miss work. Whatever.

This quick little mani was put together with Nails Inc Black Taxi, Girly Bits Into the Night, and Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Lightening. I freehanded a Batman logo (rather, I tried to freehand a Batman logo!) on the accent nail using a dotting tool and a toothpick.

Who is your favourite super hero? Are you excited about The Dark Knight Rises? Have you seen it yet? Aahhh! Too excited… haha!

Amy’s Nail Boutique – Lemon Lime

For some reason, I stayed away from indie polishes for the longest time. I think it was the drama involved in procuring Lynnderella polishes, or maybe it’s because I didn’t dig huge chunky glitter back then (well, I’m still not keen on huge glitter– personal preference). I started warming up to them with Girly Bits because I love multi and duochromes and Pam’s polishes are amazing. But I’ve been slow on the uptake with others. When I saw this polish though, I couldn’t resist! This is Amy’s Nail Boutique in Lemon Lime.

This is a matte glitter, super bright yellow and lime green– a gorgeous combination! This looks like the same type of glitter used in Nailventurous Floam. I put it over a Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish (it has no name, but it’s lime green) to make it pop a bit more. The polish does have a rough texture, and even after three coats of Seche Vite it remains bumpy, but it’s not gross and it didn’t bother me.

Looking forward to trying more from Amy’s Nail Boutique and other indie polishes now that I’ve been bitten, haha!

Matte Floam Nail Polish!

Nail-Venturous Floam is such a fun polish, and like all “glitter” polishes, I like to make ‘em mattee! This is two coats of Nail-Venturous Floam over one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Brisk Blue. On top of that, I added one coat of China Glaze Matte Magic.

I do like this matte, but I prefer it glossy. What do you think?

Floam, in nail polish form!

Oh yes, it’s Nail-Venturous Floam! I was lucky enough to score a bottle on Ninja Polish before us nail polish junkies broke that poor site (again and again… and again! Sorry about that!) This is two coats of Nail-Venturous Floam over one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Brisk Blue, followed up with three coats of Seche Vite. It’s still a little bumpy, but it’s shiny enough so I stopped adding top coat.

Do you remember Floam? My best friend had some when we were younger. It was pretty much little styrofoam balls in silly putty or something. Whatever it was/is–it’s cool! And it translates into an amazing polish!

Have you had a chance to pick up Floam? What do you think? I’m looking forward to playing with this polish some more!
