DIY Holo with OPI Fly

I really enjoy holo topcoats– it’s an easy and inexpensive way of making any ol’ polish into a bam-in-yo-face holographic polish. Take for instance OPI Fly from the Nicki Minaj collection. Fly is one of my favourite OPI polishes– a gorgeous bluey-teal. I’d wear this alone, sure, but why? I can holo this up!

This is two coats of OPI Fly with one coat of Girly Bits Hocus Pocus. The holo top coat lightens the colour of Fly (and well, any colour you’d wear it over, it’s just how it is) but it’s still a bright, fun colour.

What are some of your favourite colours to holo-ify?

I am digging Hocus Pocus– you get more for your money and I don’t see that much of a difference vs. Glitter Gal 3D Silver Holo. Dries well, I haven’t had any issues with chipping, overall I’m very happy with it!

  1. Love this!! I have a holo topcoat that I haven’t used yet, I think I’m going to try it over a bright green first!
