Matte Floam Nail Polish!

Nail-Venturous Floam is such a fun polish, and like all “glitter” polishes, I like to make ‘em mattee! This is two coats of Nail-Venturous Floam over one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Brisk Blue. On top of that, I added one coat of China Glaze Matte Magic.

I do like this matte, but I prefer it glossy. What do you think?

Floam, in nail polish form!

Oh yes, it’s Nail-Venturous Floam! I was lucky enough to score a bottle on Ninja Polish before us nail polish junkies broke that poor site (again and again… and again! Sorry about that!) This is two coats of Nail-Venturous Floam over one coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Brisk Blue, followed up with three coats of Seche Vite. It’s still a little bumpy, but it’s shiny enough so I stopped adding top coat.

Do you remember Floam? My best friend had some when we were younger. It was pretty much little styrofoam balls in silly putty or something. Whatever it was/is–it’s cool! And it translates into an amazing polish!

Have you had a chance to pick up Floam? What do you think? I’m looking forward to playing with this polish some more!

Quickie Konad: Glittery Houndstooth

I needed a little more excitement in my manicure from the other day, so I got out the Konad! This is one coat of Wet n Wild Jewels for Your Highness over black with Konad plate M63 stamped with Konad Special Black polish.

I love houndstooth print, or as my best friend and I always refer to it as– Jordan Print! While watching countless New Kids on the Block videos back in the day (late 90s, early 2000s… we were late bloomers), we noticed that Jordan Knight always wore this weird black and white pattern. We had no idea what it was actually called, so we dubbed it Jordan Print. And now you know the proper name for the houndstooth pattern.

A Wet n Wild China Glaze Prismatic dupe?

On my way through Zellers, I found a lone bottle of Wet n Wild Jewels for Your Highness from their Coloricon line. This line dupes China Glaze’s Prismatic collection, and the more swatches of the China Glaze polishes I saw, the more I wanted them! So, I grabbed that lone bottle and here it is today! This is one coat of Wet n Wild Jewels for Your Highness over black.

Do you own any of the Prismatics or and of these Coloricon polishes? I’d love to get more– I’ll be on the lookout at Zellers from now on!

Quickie Konad – Holo Blue Leaves

I just wanted something bright and simple for a work event, so I opted for blue holo and a pretty leaf pattern in black. Probably not the most work-friendly work manicure, but since when do I ever do those?

This is two coats of Hits Apolo with the leaf pattern from Bundle Monster plate BM-210 stamped with Konad Special Black polish.

April Nail Polish Haul!

Here’s the scoop: mid-way through the month, I post all the new (and new to me) polishes I’ve acquired. I love seeing people’s nail mail, but don’t get as much polish as I used to as I’m trying to cut back on buying polishes (I need to pay for other things and I’ve officially run out of room on my nail racks and the eBay guy I was getting them from no longer sells them. Crisis!)

Well, you’ve already seen these ones– Girly Bits Shift Happens, Girly Bits Street Magic, Girly Bits Cosmic Ocean, and Girly Bits Into the Night. I ordered from Pam over at Girly Bits when her store was last open. I love Clarins 230 and all those other unicorn pee colours, so I had to get Shift Happens… and a few others! Pam lives sort of closeby, so we met super quickly for the polish exchange. She’s very nice!

Revlon Whimsical, Finger Paints Private Collection, Pure Ice Oh Baby, Pure Ice Tease, Pure Ice Rio.

I did a swap with Jenna Froggy over on I’m Still Thinking. We’ve swapped before and she knows I love those Pure Ice polishes you Americans can get at Wal-Mart but that us Canadians are out of luck on. She sent me three from my wishlist, plus the Revlon and Finger Paints as nice extras. Thanks again Jenna!

The Lynnderella is Be Mining For a Heart of Gold, which I won from a customer appreciation giveaway on Llarowe’s Facebook. This is my first Lynnderella, and while I’ll be posting swatches and a proper writeup when I have time to play with it, let me just say on first sight these polishes are NOT underrated! I also found Max Factor Fantasy Fire on a blog sale for a reasonable price so I scooped it up. Told you I love that unicorn pee!

And finally, I was going to include these in my May haul since I got these after the 15th, but I hadn’t posted this yet, so what the heck– here they are! I found some cheap Sally Hansen Nail Prisms in a blog sale. Was really stoked to get Garnet Lapis since that one is usually pricey. So here they are, more Nail Prisms for my collection– Garnet Lapis, Cinnabar Opal, and Cinnabar.

That’s it for the month! What polishes have you picked up recently?

Sally Hansen Nail Prisms – Burgundy Orchid

If you’ve been around for a bit, you know I love me some duochromes and multichromes! This is an oldie from the Sally Hansen Nail Prisms line in Burgundy Orchid.

This is two coats of Sally Hansen Nail Prisms Burgundy Orchid over black. You can see the shift from purple to burgundy, and even a bit of copper.

I can’t get enough of these Nail Prisms! I have a few more coming in the mail that I can’t wait to show you soon! What are some of your favourite Nail Prisms, or for that matter, some of your favourite duochrome and multichrome polishes?
